🐄 Show Cattle Agriculture Team – 2026 🐄

Woodenbong Central School students who have shown interest are invited to join the Show Cattle Agriculture Team, held after school on Thursday afternoons at the Woodenbong Central School Agriculture Farm.

📅 Commences: Thursday 19 February 2026
📅 Concludes: Thursday 17 December 2026
Time: 3:30pm – 4:30pm
📍 Location: Woodenbong Central School Agriculture Farm
Unumgar Street, Woodenbong NSW 2476

The team will prepare show cattle to parade and groom steers at local shows throughout the Northern Rivers region.

Important Information:

🐄 Students will walk from school to the Ag Farm at 3:30pm under staff supervision.
🐄 Pick-up time is 4:40pm from the Ag Farm. Parents/carers are required to collect students promptly.
🐄 Parents will be notified if a session is cancelled (e.g. wet weather or staff absence).
🐄 This program will run throughout the school year.

What to Bring:

👕 A change of clothes (to protect school uniform)
👟 Flat, enclosed, comfortable footwear
💧 Water bottle
🥪 Snacks

There is a $10.00 player levy 🏀, payable at school prior to the event.

Important Information:

🏀 Parents/carers are required to provide private transport to and from the venue.
🏀 A basketball singlet will be provided on the day.
🏀 Students must wear full sports uniform and suitable footwear.
🏀 Students placed on Formal Caution or Suspension within two weeks of the event are not eligible to participate.
🏀 Canteen facilities will be available at the venue (limited options).
🏀 Students are encouraged to bring their own water, snacks and lunch.

Senior students have an exciting opportunity to attend the University Roadshow 2026. This excursion will feature most universities from South-eastern Queensland and Northern New South Wales, along with TAFE NSW.

Whether students are seriously considering higher education or simply exploring their options after school, this is a valuable opportunity to see first hand what courses and pathways are available.

Make the Most of the Roadshow:

  • Ask plenty of questions
  • Collect relevant information
  • Enjoy a relaxed, informative and valuable experience

Students will resume normal timetabled lessons upon returning to school.

Activity: Half day of non-competitive, fun and friendly futsal (indoor football)
Format: Round robin competition
Games: Each team will play four games against other schools
Purpose: To promote participation, enjoyment and friendly competition among upper primary students

Transport

🚌 Students will travel to Casino on the Watsons 20-seater bus.
🚗 Some students may need to travel by private vehicle. If this applies to your child, you will be contacted prior to the day.

We’re excited to support our students as they take part in the Zone Northern Rivers Rugby League Trials! This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase their skills, determination and teamwork at a representative level.

🏉 Age Groups

Boys: Under 16’s and Opens
Girls: Under 16’s and Under 18’s

💲 Cost

$5 player levy fee, payable directly at the venue on the day prior to the first game.

✅ Important Requirements

  • All selected players must be available for the Northern North Coast Trials in Ballina.
  • Mouthguards are mandatory — students without a mouthguard will not be permitted to trial.
  • Football jerseys will be provided on the day.
  • Players must bring their own boots, shorts, socks and any additional protective gear (e.g. headgear, shoulder pads).

🚗 Transport

Parents/carers are responsible for organising private transport to and from the venue.

👕 Dress Code & What to Bring

  • Full sports uniform
  • Mouthguard

We are pleased to announce that selected secondary students, including School Captains, have been invited to attend the National Young Leaders Day (NYLD).

This inspiring program is designed to support and develop leadership skills in young people who have shown strong potential to make a positive impact within their school and wider community.

NYLD explores leadership qualities in young Australians and encourages:

  • Initiative and responsibility
  • Compassion and values-based leadership
  • Community engagement
  • Positive influence within schools and beyond

Secondary students have been invited to participate in a Futsal Gala Day in Armidale, organised by the Australian Futsal Association.

Accommodation: Armidale Tourist Park (cabins – linen provided)

🚌 Transport

Students will travel by chartered bus and will be supervised by school staff for the duration of the trip.
