🐄 Show Cattle Agriculture Team – 2026 🐄

Woodenbong Central School students who have shown interest are invited to join the Show Cattle Agriculture Team, held after school on Thursday afternoons at the Woodenbong Central School Agriculture Farm.

📅 Commences: Thursday 19 February 2026
📅 Concludes: Thursday 17 December 2026
⏰ Time: 3:30pm – 4:30pm
📍 Location: Woodenbong Central School Agriculture Farm
Unumgar Street, Woodenbong NSW 2476

The team will prepare show cattle to parade and groom steers at local shows throughout the Northern Rivers region.

Important Information:

🐄 Students will walk from school to the Ag Farm at 3:30pm under staff supervision.
🐄 Pick-up time is 4:40pm from the Ag Farm. Parents/carers are required to collect students promptly.
🐄 Parents will be notified if a session is cancelled (e.g. wet weather or staff absence).
🐄 This program will run throughout the school year.

What to Bring:

👕 A change of clothes (to protect school uniform)
👟 Flat, enclosed, comfortable footwear
💧 Water bottle
🥪 Snacks

📚📝 Year 11 Preliminary Exams 📝📚

Our Year 11 Preliminary Examinations will be held from Monday 14th September to Friday 18th September.

Students are encouraged to check their examination dates and times carefully and come prepared for each exam.

💃 Casino Performing Arts Festival – Primary Dance Group 🎶

Our Primary Dance Group will be performing at the Casino/Kyogle Performing Arts Festival! Please read the following itinerary and important information carefully.

🎟️ Tickets and Meals

All payments must be made in cash at the school’s front office.

• 🎫 Concert tickets: $10 each
• 🍽️ Dinner and afternoon tea: $20 per student
• ⚠️ Tickets can only be purchased through the school’s front office.
• 🚫 NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE VENUE.
• 👨‍👩‍👧 Tickets are limited to two tickets per participating family.
• 💃 Students participating in the dance performance do not require a ticket.

🚗 Transport

• Parents and carers are responsible for transporting their child to the rehearsal and performance.
• Limited private transport may be available with Mrs Boyton and Miss Milne.
• Please contact the school’s front office if your child requires transport.

🕐 Daytime Schedule

• 11:30 am: Depart Woodenbong Central School
• 12:50 pm: Arrive at Casino Civic Hall
• 12:50–1:30 pm: Students eat their packed lunch
• 1:30–2:15 pm: Rehearsal
• After rehearsal: Staff will accompany students to Casino Public School, where a room has been provided free of charge.

Parents and carers are welcome to stay if they wish.

🎬 Afternoon at Casino Public School

• 2:15–4:30 pm: Afternoon tea, a movie and costume preparation
• 4:30–5:15 pm: Dinner—McDonald’s will be provided by the teachers

🌟 Evening Schedule

• 5:30 pm: Travel to Casino Civic Hall and meet Mrs Boyton and Miss Milne
• 6:00 pm: Hall opens for seating
• 6:30 pm: Concert begins

🎒 Students Will Need

• A packed lunch
• A water bottle
• Their complete dance costume and any required accessories
• Any other personal items needed throughout the afternoon and evening

🎳 Year 12 End-of-Year Excursion 🎨

We are excited to announce the upcoming Year 12 End-of-Year Excursion, celebrating the achievements and hard work of our senior students as they conclude their final year at Woodenbong Central School.

📅 Excursion Details

• Date: Tuesday, 22nd September 2026
• Departure Time: 7:00 am from Woodenbong Central School
• Cost: $85 per student
• The cost covers all scheduled activities and transport.

🎳 Ten-Pin Bowling

Students will enjoy ten-pin bowling at Timezone, Robina Town Centre, giving them an opportunity to relax, socialise and have fun together.

Students wishing to play additional arcade games will need to bring spending money.

🎨 Paintball

Students will participate in an exciting paintball session at:

Skirmish Gold Coast
42 John Rodgers Road, Mudgeeraba

The session will promote teamwork, strategy and friendly competition.

⚠️ All students will be required to sign a waiver form upon arrival at the paintball venue.

🚗 Transport

Students will travel in private vehicles.

Students will need:

• Comfortable clothing suitable for physical activity

Students who do not have another form of photo identification should contact the school’s front office to arrange a Student ID card before the excursion.

🌿 Queen Mary Falls – Activities Day Excursion 🐦

Students from Kindergarten to Year 8 have the opportunity to attend an exciting Activities Day excursion to the beautiful Queen Mary Falls.

📅 Excursion Details

• Date: Wednesday, 23rd September 2026
• Destination: Queen Mary Falls
• Transport: Olive’s Bus
• Cost: $15 per student

🚌 Activities

Students will travel by bus to Queen Mary Falls, where they will:

• 🥪 Enjoy a picnic lunch
• 🥾 Explore the area during a walk around the falls
• 🐦 Have the opportunity to feed the local birds
• 🌳 Spend time enjoying the beautiful natural surroundings

🎒 What to Bring

Students will need:

• Comfortable walking shoes
• Clothing suitable for the weather and outdoor activities
• A hat
• Sunscreen
• A water bottle
• A packed lunch

⛸️ Ice-Skating Activities Day Excursion 2026 ❄️

Students in Years 4–12 have the opportunity to attend an exciting Activities Day excursion to Iceworld Acacia Ridge in Brisbane.

Iceworld Olympic Ice Rinks have operated in Brisbane for more than 30 years and provide access to an Olympic-size ice rink. The activity caters for all skill levels, from beginners through to experienced skaters.

📅 Excursion Details

• Date: Wednesday, 23rd September 2026
• Destination: Iceworld Acacia Ridge, Brisbane
• Transport: Mazza’s coach
• Cost: $40 per student

⚠️ Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

🎒 What to Bring

Students will need:

• Warm clothing
• Gloves
• Long socks
• A water bottle
• Lunch and snacks, or money to purchase food from the venue’s café
• Spending money for a possible short stop at McDonald’s

👖 Compulsory Clothing

For safety on the ice, all students must wear:

• Long sleeves
• Long pants
• Long socks

🛡️ Safety and Supervision

All activities will be closely supervised by staff. Safety instructions and equipment will be provided to participating students.

⚠️ Important Requirements

• The consumption of energy drinks during the excursion is strictly prohibited.
• Any student found consuming an energy drink will not be permitted to participate in the excursion activities.
• Students who receive a formal caution or suspension within the two weeks before the excursion will not be eligible to attend.

🐄 Primary Kyogle Show – Youth Education Day for Livestock Judging 🐮

The Kyogle Show Society is offering an exciting opportunity for primary students to attend a Youth Education Day, featuring guest speakers and informative talks about livestock judging.

📌 Important Information for Parents and Carers

• ✍️ Parental Permission: Permission can be given through SchoolBytes, or you can download the permission note here. Paper copies are also available from the school’s front office.
• 📄 Waiver Form: A signed waiver is required and must include your child’s name and date of birth. This information will be provided to the Kyogle Show Society. A waiver form will be sent home once permission has been given.
• 🛡️ Supervision and Safety: Students are not permitted to go on any show rides unless they have been signed out by a parent or guardian.
• 🥪 Lunch: Please pack lunch for your child or provide them with spending money.
• 🚗 Transport: Parents and carers are responsible for arranging private transport to and from the event.
• ⏰ Arrival: Students must arrive by 9:00 am. Judging talks will commence at 9:30 am sharp.
• 🕑 Finish Time: All talks and competitions will finish by 2:00 pm.
• 👕 Dress Code: Students must wear their school uniform, covered shoes and a hat.
• 🎟️ Entry Fee: There is no entry fee for students attending the Youth Education Day.

We are pleased to announce that our Agriculture Team students will be attending the upcoming Kyogle Show. Students will participate in cattle-showing events and the Youth Education Day.

This is a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their skills, gain valuable hands-on experience and connect with the wider agricultural community.

📅 Event Details

• 🐮 Event: Kyogle Show – Cattle Showing and Youth Education Day
• 📆 Dates: 25th and 26th September 2026
  Please note that this event will take place during the first weekend of the school holidays.
• ⛺ Camping Location: Designated camping area at the Kyogle Showgrounds
• 🚗 Transport: Parents and carers are responsible for transporting their child to the showgrounds and home at the conclusion of the event.
• ⏰ Arrival Time: Students must arrive at the Kyogle Showgrounds by 8:30 am.
• 🚜 Loading Cattle: Students who are able to assist with loading the cattle should arrive at the school Agriculture Farm by 7:00 am.
• 🍕 Cost: $15.00 to cover pizza for dinner

🎒 What to Bring

Students will need:

• Sleeping gear, including a swag or sleeping bag
• Toiletries and clothing for two days
• Clothing suitable for washing and showing cattle
• Flat, enclosed and comfortable footwear
• A wide-brimmed hat
• Spending money, as students may need to pay an entry fee at the gate
• Appropriate show attire, including the school showing shirt

School showing shirts are available to purchase or hire from the front office if required.

📌 Important Information

• This is an overnight excursion. Students must bring all necessary camping equipment, sleeping gear and personal belongings.
• Parents and carers are welcome to stay and assist at the campsite; however, they must provide a valid Working with Children Check number.
• If you are having difficulty obtaining a Working with Children Check number, please contact Donna for assistance.
• Students and approved adults will camp together in a designated area under staff supervision.
• All school rules will apply throughout the event.
• Additional guests are not permitted to stay at the campsite unless prior approval has been obtained from the school. Unapproved guests will not be permitted to stay overnight.
• Students are not permitted to go on any show rides until they have been signed out and are in the care of their parent or guardian.
• Please ensure your child is fully prepared with all required equipment, camping gear and show attire.

⏰ Important Arrival Information

Students are asked to arrive at the Woodenbong Central School Agriculture Farm by 6:30 am on Friday, 9 October to assist with loading the cattle before departing for the show.

The event will commence at 8:00 am.

• Toiletries and sufficient clothing for the excursion
• Clothing suitable for washing and showing cattle
• Flat, enclosed and comfortable footwear
