🐄 Show Cattle Agriculture Team – 2026 🐄

Woodenbong Central School students who have shown interest are invited to join the Show Cattle Agriculture Team, held after school on Thursday afternoons at the Woodenbong Central School Agriculture Farm.

📅 Commences: Thursday 19 February 2026
📅 Concludes: Thursday 17 December 2026
⏰ Time: 3:30pm – 4:30pm
📍 Location: Woodenbong Central School Agriculture Farm
Unumgar Street, Woodenbong NSW 2476

The team will prepare show cattle to parade and groom steers at local shows throughout the Northern Rivers region.

Important Information:

🐄 Students will walk from school to the Ag Farm at 3:30pm under staff supervision.
🐄 Pick-up time is 4:40pm from the Ag Farm. Parents/carers are required to collect students promptly.
🐄 Parents will be notified if a session is cancelled (e.g. wet weather or staff absence).
🐄 This program will run throughout the school year.

What to Bring:

👕 A change of clothes (to protect school uniform)
👟 Flat, enclosed, comfortable footwear
💧 Water bottle
🥪 Snacks

School Photo Day is coming up, and we can't wait to capture everyone's smiles! 📷✨

📩 Ordering envelopes have been sent home with students this week. Families wishing to purchase sibling photographs can collect a sibling order form from the Woodenbong Central School Front Office.

🗓️ Please return all completed photo envelopes and sibling order forms to the Front Office by Wednesday, 19th August 2026 to assist with administration.

📷 Even if you are not ordering photos, please ensure your child attends school on Photo Day. Individual portrait photos are used by the school for purposes such as:

✅ School reports
✅ Student ID cards
✅ Other school records

👕 School Uniform Requirements

Students are asked to wear:

The Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) course has been rescheduled.

📅 Wednesday, 26th August & Thursday, 27th August
🕙 10:00 am – 2:00 pm (both days)

✅ Students must be 15 years or older to enrol.

🏉 Opens Touch Football & Rugby League State Finals – Dubbo 🏉

🏉 Opens Touch Football & Rugby League State Finals – Dubbo 🏉

Our Open Men's teams will be travelling to Dubbo to compete in the Touch Football and Rugby League State Finals. 🚌🏆

Students will depart on Tuesday 1st September, travelling by bus to Dubbo. The teams will compete in Touch Football on Wednesday 2nd September and Rugby League on Thursday 3rd September, before returning home to Woodenbong on Thursday afternoon.

We wish our students the very best as they represent our school at the State Finals! 💚👏

Tuesday 1st September – Depart for Dubbo (daytime travel by bus) 🚌
1st & 2nd September – Accommodation in cabins at Dubbo Holiday Park 🏡
Wednesday 2nd September – Touch Football competition 🏉
Thursday 3rd September – Rugby League competition 🏉
Thursday 3rd September – Return to Woodenbong in the afternoon 🚌🏠

🎒 Items Required

Students will need to bring:

  • 👟 Football boots
  • 🦷 Mouthguard – mandatory
  • 🩹 Any strapping tape required
  • 👕 Footy jerseys will be supplied
  • 🏉 Students who have a touch shirt should bring it; otherwise, one will be supplied

We are excited to announce that our Year 5 and Year 6 students will be attending a fun-filled excursion to Dorroughby Environmental Education Centre from Tuesday 8th September to Thursday 10th September. 🚌

This three-day camp is a wonderful opportunity for students to enjoy outdoor adventures, explore nature, build confidence and resilience, and strengthen their teamwork and cooperation skills. 🌳💪🤝
