Woodenbong Central School students who have shown interest are invited to join the Show Cattle Agriculture Team, held after school on Thursday afternoons at the Woodenbong Central School Agriculture Farm.
📅 Commences: Thursday 19 February 2026
📅 Concludes: Thursday 17 December 2026
⏰ Time: 3:30pm – 4:30pm
📍 Location: Woodenbong Central School Agriculture Farm

The team will prepare show cattle to parade and groom steers at local shows throughout the Northern Rivers region.
Important Information:
🐄 Students will walk from school to the Ag Farm at 3:30pm under staff supervision.
🐄 Pick-up time is 4:40pm from the Ag Farm. Parents/carers are required to collect students promptly.
🐄 Parents will be notified if a session is cancelled (e.g. wet weather or staff absence).
🐄 This program will run throughout the school year.
What to Bring:
👕 A change of clothes (to protect school uniform)
👟 Flat, enclosed, comfortable footwear
💧 Water bottle
🥪 Snacks

Woodenbong Central School students have been invited to participate in the Clifton Interschool Shooting Competition, a 2-day clay target and benchrest shooting event to be held at Laurie Bowie Rifle Range, Clifton, QLD. 👏
📅 Dates: Thursday 14th May and Friday 15th May 2026
📍 Location: Laurie Bowie Rifle Range, Clifton, QLD
🕢 Start Time: 7:30am at the Clifton Gun Club
💲 Cost: $110.00 total to be paid at school
($55.00 per day)
🏡 Accommodation:
Parents are required to book their own accommodation.

Students have the opportunity to attend the Primex Field Day Excursion at the Lismore Show Grounds.
📅 Date: Thursday 21st May 2026
⏰ Time: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
📍 Location: Lismore Show Grounds
💰 Cost: $20.00 per student
🎟️ Tickets for the Primex event have been supplied for free, so there are no entry costs.
👕 Students are required to wear full school uniform.

• A pen or pencil
• A notebook
🍎 Students may bring a packed lunch or purchase lunch from the canteen facilities available at the venue.
Primex is a major event in the Northern Rivers region, showcasing the agribusiness sector with a focus on the Paddock to Plate experience. Exhibitors will include producers, educators, chefs, and others from a variety of industry sectors.
🛍️ There will be items for sale at Primex Field Day; however, any purchases will be checked to ensure they are appropriate for students and families.

Students will be travelling to Inverell to participate in the Central Schools Regional Under 16's and Opens Touch Football Carnival.
📅 Departure: Tuesday 26th May at 6:00 am
📅 Return: Wednesday 27th May at approximately 8:30 pm
📍 Location: Inverell
🏕️ Overnight accommodation: Green Valley Farm, Tingha
💰 Cost: $125.00 per student
This covers transport, accommodation, dinner on Tuesday night and breakfast on Wednesday morning.
🍎 Food and spending money:
Students will need extra spending money for lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday. There will also be a stop on the way home on Wednesday afternoon where students will have time to purchase food.
⚠️ Please note:
There will be no stop for breakfast on Tuesday morning, so students will need to eat breakfast at home before departure and/or bring food to eat while travelling. Sandwiches and muesli bars will be provided when students arrive at the venue.
👕 Uniform and clothing:
School uniform MUST be worn while travelling to and from Inverell.
While playing, students are to wear:
• Touch football shirts
• Black shorts
• Socks
• Football boots
👟 Shoes must be worn while travelling — NO Crocs.
🥪 Students are to bring their own snacks. Canteen facilities will be available at the venue.

Woodenbong Central School Agriculture students have the opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes look at one of the region’s leading beef processing facilities with the Casino Food Company Tour. 🐄🌾
Students will learn more about the local beef industry, processing operations and the journey from paddock to plate. 🍽️
Students will also be able to view the carcasses from the Led Steer and Heifer competitions. The results for the carcass competition will be announced during the visit. 🏆
What to Wear/Bring

We are excited to offer students in Years 8 to 11 the opportunity to attend an educational excursion to the Great Barrier Reef. 🌏✨
Students will take part in hands-on learning while exploring one of the world’s most remarkable natural wonders. They will learn about marine biodiversity, conservation, environmental responsibility, tourism and sustainability. 🪸🐠
An itinerary will be provided to families closer to the departure date. 📝
