When to Start School (Kindergarten)
Children can start Kindergarten at the beginning of the school year if they turn 5 on or before 31 July that year. By law, all children must start school by their 6th birthday.
Deciding when your child starts school is a personal choice. You can talk with your child’s preschool teacher, carer, doctor, or our school staff to decide what’s best.
Children grow and learn at different speeds. Our teachers support each child’s learning based on their needs and skills.
Transition Days for School Starters
Woodenbong Central School holds several Transition Days for school starters at the end of Term 3 and the beginning of Term 4, the year before they start school. These days help new students and their families get ready for school.
