How We Support Student Wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social, and physical wellbeing is part of everyday life at Woodenbong Central School.
We provide support through:
Friendly teachers who make sure every student feels included and valued
Access to school counsellors, psychologists, and other specialist staff
Programs that promote health, positive behaviour, social skills, and regular attendance
Extra support for students who are new to the school or moving up to a new year level
Clear guidelines for respectful behaviour and positive relationships

School Counselling
At Woodenbong Central School, our school counselling staff are dedicated members of the Learning and Support Team, working together to support the wellbeing and success of every student.
Referral to School Counselling
Teachers may refer students to the Learning and Support Team for counselling support.
Parents and carers are welcome to refer their child directly to the school counselling service.
Students can also self-refer if they would like to speak with a counsellor.
How the School Counselling Service Can Help
Support students who are concerned about schoolwork, friendships, behaviour, or feeling down.
Assist parents and carers in making decisions about their child’s education.
Assess students’ learning and behaviour to identify any additional needs.
Help teachers and students identify and address any disabilities that may impact learning.
Work with external agencies to promote student wellbeing.

All counselling sessions are confidential, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for students.
